About this release

'On My Way' is Bumkey's third full-length album, completing a narrative of the time and life he has steadily built since his first full-length album released in 2016. It fully captures the current Bumkey in the long breath of a full-length album. This album does not talk about an unwavering life. Everyone faces moments of choice and sometimes lives shaken. The important thing is to not lose oneself during that process and eventually walk one's own path. 'On My Way' is a condensed crystallization of Bumkey's music and life, which has become stronger through that time. Bumkey's unique musical color, freely crossing hip-hop and jazz centered on R&B and soul, is still effective in this album. In particular, close collaborations with artists who have built their own musical worlds in their respective fields, such as BewhY, JUSTHIS, lIlBOI, GSoul, THAMA, and Horim, add depth to the album. Bumkey's musical ability to blend different musical individualities into one flow clearly shows why Bumkey has been a leading musician in Korean R&B for a long time. Also, family stories form an important axis of this album. '2006,' which captures the moment Bumkey first met his wife, and 'No Need,' which features his son Gianni, along with various emotions and moments encountered in life, make this album even more sincere. 'On My Way' is not a retrospection of the past, but encapsulates the present of a musician who has walked his own path through times of wavering and choice. And it is also Bumkey's firmest declaration that he will continue to walk his own path through any future uncertainties.
